Nature Would Like A Word
Solo exhibition at the Art House on R, Sacramento, California
In the Natural world there is a lot of chaos, but also an extraordinary amount of order. Somehow this delicate balance has sustained an incredible diversity of life. The balance is shifting. Hand-building with clay, I cannot help but see a reflection of our global issues – think shifting plates, melting ice, global deforestation, species extinction, rising seas, unbearable heat. Imagery, texture, shine or its opposite are suggested by what is around me. Transformative figures allow for this communication and often carry messages of importance.
